The company was established in 1985 by its founder, David Crickmay, in the Southern African timber and sawmilling industry.

It is here that our process of continuous improvement has its origin in a product called the Intermill Comparison. The process succeeded, in what was a particularly brutal industry, and one which saw ±75% of the structural sawmills closing their doors over a 20-year period. A large proportion of the original Intermill clients survived and flourish.

The process forms the basis of the company’s philosophy and has successfully been introduced into a number of other industries since. As the process became better defined, so too did the capability supporting it and the greater application it found.
